Oak is a a great material for beds as it is hard wearing and very attractive. Oak has long been a favourite timber for use in furniture manufacture for these reasons, and people love oak beds as they provide your bedroom with a lovely warm feeling.
Oak beds are available in a huge range of styles and designs, from modern and contemporary to rustic, distresssed, and traditional. Oak bed materials can vary as well, from solid oak which can be quite expensive, to cheaper options, such as oak veneer beds.
While oak is very strong, developments in manufacturing technologies, mean that new fiber boards, and man-made timbers can be just as strong. Veneered oak bed frames, therefore, are now a valid option, as they provide the same beautiful appearance as a solid oak bed, but at a much cheaper price.
